Inspiration & Concept - I made the background which felt like rain through a foggy window. I wanted to add a big bold figure drawing and then complement the hand drawing with a sweeping landscape photograph that captured similar colours.

Medium & Techniques -  Brush markers, ink pen, gesso, photographic collage, water colour.

Visual Elements - Figure illustration, sadness, strength.

Process & Execution - The figure looks severe, guarded and striking. The woman has been hurt but is finding strength and hope to continue. The hope is symbolised by the bright spots on the horizon.
